Another Chapter in the Perpetual Decline of Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone's latest 50 Best Album Covers is now online.

At least Electric Laydyland is on it, and I'm surprised Tales from Topographic Oceans is on it and the writer doesn't even take a swipe at the music. Times certainly have changed: can you imagine trying to release an album/cd with a cover like Hendrix's Electric Ladyland, Roxy Music's Country Life, or Led Zep's Houses of the Holy? Reminds me of the whole "Smell the Glove" scene from Spinal Tap.

With their most recent list including all sorts of newer, less-worthy stuff (NSYNC?) I wasn't surprised to find that I only own six of the top 50.
