Ok, so I never thought I'd like to and article at Entertainment Weekly about Mariah Carey, but it does have some interesting information on other artists "fired" by their labels. I recall R.E.M. signing a pretty big contract several years ago with a label. Wonder if they are soon to be without a label. They certainly haven't been burning up the charts.
Wish I had access to SoundScan numbers to see how their last couple albums have done.
