New Orb on the way?

Looks like a new Orb cd is on the way in another month or so. I've picked up the Orb's Back to Mine last week. It is a bit more ambient and less varied the Orbital's, but still pretty good.
Now if they'd only say when the Orb DVD, The Orb: Live In Belgium 2002, will be released.

McWiFi

Looks as if McDonald's will be offering wireless access in Chicago in the near future; an hour for an extra-value meal purchase. It'll be interesting to see how this goes. Not to sound snobbish, but the McDonald's crowd doesn't seem to be the wireless crowd wheras a Starbucks' or Borders crowd does.

Link Backlog

Abandoned Airports: Illinois When I was a kid, I remember there being an airstrip over in Richton Park south of Sauk Trail on Governor's Highway. Must have closed down in the late 1980s. I remember seeing planes towing gliders in the summer on occasion. Nothing at this site on that airport, but I might try looking further some other time.

Underground History A site with information and photos of disused stations on the London Underground. I need to look around and see if there's anything like this for the CTA. Pehaps there's something at Chicago-L.

Music from TV Commercials Haven't had a chance to see how useful this is, but it is a neat idea. I'm surprised that manufacturers don't often have a gallery of commercials and song info.

Ebert and the Pledge

Nice bit by Roger Ebert at the Sun-Times on the Pledge of Allegiance. I thin kI can remember having to say it in grade school and maybe even in junior high. I'll be happy when Ashcroft goes away,

Snow

Finally got some decent snow. Too bad that it is March. Where are my unseasonably warm temperatures? Is it too much to ask for a 60+-degree day?
