Get Interviewed
Great interview with Darby Conley (the creator of Get Fuzzy) at Meet The Makers. I enjoy the strip and even have the desk calendar. Never seen an interview with him, though.

Ah, finally. The Apple Store on Michigan Avenue will open on Friday, June 27. I'd swear they've been working on the place for the last year. Nice to have it pretty much a block away from where I work.
Let's see: bit the bullet and started running again. Found a little 5K training schedule at nikerunning.com. No plans to run a 5K, but a structured plan is helpful. Bought a new pair of New Balance running shoes at Sportmart for about 50% off.
We saw a performance of Ein Deutsches Requiem by the Apollo Chorus at Orchestra Hall on Saturday afternoon. Our seats, in the front row of the gallery above the balcony, were a lot like the upper deck at Comiskey. Now that's steep.
A small screen capture from the upcoming Rush in Rio DVD.
Lunar eclipse tomorrow night, but I don't see the weather here cooperating.
Nice article at the Seattle Times about Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready's experience with Crohn's disease. A friend of mine was diagnosed with Crohn's many years ago and she's been through a lot as a result. I'm glad to see that it is getting some mainstream exposure.
Standard busy holiday weekend. (Since our parents live only 30 or so minutes apart, we visit each family when there's a major holiday. Not too difficult, really, but Thanksgiving and Christmas become very long days). Lisa's birthday was this weekend and we celebrated my dad's as well, so there was lots of gift and card buying last week. It was one of those weekends where you wish there was an extra day so you could recover from it all.
Saw X-Men 2 (or whatever they're calling it these days) last night. Not bad. A new wig for Storm, some slice-and-dice Wolverine (including a nutty fight with the heavily revised Lady Deathstrike), a peek at other minor characters, and a good take on Nightcrawler. The movie was a little too long, but left you wondering what tidbits might show up in the dvd (I've really got to stop thinking this way at the movies).
When we came out of the theater (the AMC 21 downtown), the fog was slowly engulfing the Wrigley Building. Wished I had my camera on me.
