Stumbled across a site covering the The Lakewood Branch, an old rail line that passes (or at least passed, the rails are covered these days) right by our apartment. Didn't know that the townhouses at the end of the block are built on the site of an old depot.
I listened to a streaming version of the new R.E.M. album this afternoon. Man, there's another album I won't be buying. Seems much of their stuff post-Monster (which I bought and disliked) is super-ballady. Then again, I think I've listened to Chronic Town more in the last couple of months more than any other R.E.M. cd.
Browsing around Amazon today, I noticed that John Adams' On the Transmigration of Souls had been released. Didn't even know it was coming out. Time to head to the store and pick it up.
