After adding a zippy new saddle (Terry Firefly—if it has flames, it must be fast) last summer, I decided to hold off doing anything else to my road bike (a 2003 Giant OCR 3) until spring. It sat in the basement on the trainer all winter, alone, mostly. I'd visit it now and then, laptop in tow, to do a Spinnervals DVD when the mood struck. During that time I bought a number of components (STI levels, front & rear derailleurs, cassette, chain; a mix of 105 and Ultegra bits) that I found on sale here and there. Finally had everything installed at Performance (great work, and fast) a couple of weeks ago. I've taken the bike out twice now in the last week and it rides like a dream. I did a little poking around on Giant's Web site and decided, based on their bike specs, that I seem to have upgraded it to above the specs for the OCR 1, so I'm claiming that it is now an OCR 0.5.
